Kudzu vine was brought from eastern Asia in 1876 and can grow more than 6.5 feet a week. Its starchy roots plunge deep into the soil, and just a fragment of the plant remaining in the ground is enough to allow it to come back next season. Few houses are abandoned and allowed to be taken over by vegetation. However, in parts of the south including the city of Atlanta those that are, are susceptible to being engulfed by kudzu.

A perfect blend of nature :)
That's scary. Imagine if it took over the world...grins.
We had something similar in our lakes few years.Called the African weed,it practically filled the lakes, making them unsuitable for navigation. It was impossible to get rid of it,because tiny bits would grow and fill up again. The plant floats in water and fills the surface.
Amazing pictures!
Looks very beautiful. regular pruning could be attempted to keep the growth under control and add beauty to the cottages.
This is amazing but sounds the danger bell by the way its growing.
wow!

Waah! Now THAT was amazing.
यह गाँव तो वाकई में सुन्दर है!
Boy, 6.5 feet a week, that does sound scary. If it is let to grow out in the forest, would it take over everything?Thank you for coming by.
